Suitland, Maryland - On Tuesday, June 06, 2017 shortly after 10:30 pm, the United States Park Police responded for the report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection with Branch Avenue.
Briaunna Amber Smith, 23, of Washington, DC, was the passenger of one vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of that vehicle remains in critical condition.
The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has been released.
The roadway was closed for approximately five hours while US Park Police performed a reconstruction of the crash scene. The investigation continues.
