FIRE RESTRICTIONS
Effective Monday, June 26, 2017, pursuant to Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations, sections 1.S{a)(l), 1.S(a)(3), 2.13{c) and 2.21{a), the following acts are prohibited in Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.
PROHIBITIONS:
1. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, charcoal, coal,or wood stove fire, including within a developed recreation site or improved site (36 CFR 2.13(a)].
Exception : The use of liquid petroleum or LPG fueled stoves, lanterns, or heating devices is allowed as long as such devices meet the fire underwriter's specifications for safety.
Exception: This prohibition does not apply to fire suppression forces engaged in firefighting activities.
1. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle (36 CFR 2.21(a)]
AREA DESCRIBED:
Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.
PURPOSE:
To reduce the risk of fire in order to protect public health and safety, and to protect National Park Service lands, resources, and facilities during the current period of increased fire danger.
IMPLEMENTATION:
1. This order shall be in effect beginning June 26, 2017, and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
2. Any violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00, or imprisonment for no more than six months,or both.
