Pecos, NM: - Pecos National Historical Park will offer a free botany walk on Saturday, July 22nd. Park volunteers Susan and Dr. Ken Bower, who are members of the Native Plant Society of New Mexico, are passionate and extremely knowledgeable amateur botanists. On this one mile roundtrip walk along the main trail, they will lead visitors in an exploration of ethnobotany, landscape history, and the interactions between wildlife and the park flora that make Pecos special. Attendees will meet at the Visitor Center at 10:45 a.m. and proceed on to the trail from there. The tour will end at 12:30 p.m. Please come early as this is a popular program.
