USPP Investigates Fire at Dupont Circle

Washington, DC - On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, United States Park Police responded to Dupont Circle for the report of a fire. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Jonathon Soloman, 24, of South Carolina, had set fire to some items in the fountain.

The items had been collected from within the park. There is no evidence that this incident is related to the memorial held in the park the previous evening.

Soloman was arrested and charged with vandalism. The fountain did not appear to sustain any permanent damage.
