End of Season Program Schedule, September 2017

Skagway - Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park will initiate a transitional schedule with the conclusion of summer tours and closure of buildings in September.

Chilkoot Trail Center

September 5 is the last day to get a permit to hike the Chilkoot Trail, the Trail Center closes for the season on September 7. After September 7, Chilkoot hikers should check in at the visitor center at 2nd Avenue and Broadway to clear customs and receive trail condition updates.

Junior Ranger Activity Center

September 8 is your last chance to earn a Junior Ranger badge at the fun and interactive center. After the center closes, visitors can become Junior Rangers by completing new activity booklets, available at the visitor center and online at go.nps.gov/KLGOJrRanger.

Moore Homestead

The Moore Homestead will be open when a ship is in port through September 28.

Mascot Saloon Museum

The Mascot Saloon Museum will be open daily through September 28.

Jeff. Smiths Parlor Museum

The Jeff. Smiths Parlor Museum is open when a ship is in port. The museum will be free on September 28 before closing for the season.

Visitor Center and Museum

The park visitor center at 2nd Avenue and Broadway is open daily through September 28. The park museum is open year round, transitioning to winter hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, beginning September 29.

Tours

September 7 is your last chance in 2017 for a free guided ranger walk on the new trail system at the Historic Dyea Townsite. Have you heard about the Buffalo Soldiers? Learn about them and other untold stories of the gold rush with free ranger-led walking tours of Skagway on days a ship is in port through September 28.
