A Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for Denali National Park and Preserve is available for public review and comment.
Denali National Park and Preserve is the first national park unit in Alaska to develop a park-specific plan. Denali’s LRTP will supplement regional and national LRTPs by outlining park-specific transportation goals, objectives, and strategies. The goal is to guide transportation planning and decisions during the next 20 years by strategically identifying and prioritizing the transportation infrastructure and systems that are needed.
Public comments received as part of this public comment period will inform the five-year revision of the LRTP.
The Denali LRTP is a strategy document and does not constitute approval of specific projects. Implementation of potential projects will require future compliance and public comment opportunity in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
The Denali LRTP is available at on the Planning, Environment, and Public Comment Site. Comments can be submitted directly on the PEPC site, via email to the Denali Planning Team or mailed to: Superintendent, Denali National Park and Preserve, P.O. Box 9, Denali Park, AK 99755.
Comments will be accepted through Oct. 2, 2017.
