Night Sky Viewing at Pecos NHP

Pecos, NM:- Join us for an evening under the wonderful western sky. Pecos National Historical Park will offer a free ranger-guided night sky program on Saturday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. We will use the telescopes to gaze at the starts and check out Saturn, Jupiter, and the moon. Visitors are invited to bring their own telescopes or use the park’s telescopes to explore the park’s night skies. This event is weather-dependent and red-bulb flashlights and appropriate clothing are strongly recommended.

The events will take place around the park’s headquarters building. Visitors are asked to turn into the park entrance and follow the sign for park headquarters; the visitor center will not be open. The gate will open at 6:30 p.m.; the gate will shut at 7:15 p.m. Please note that after 7:15 no further entry will be permitted; the event is expected to end by 9:00 p.m. Reservations are required for this program; please call 505-757-7241.
