FARMINGTON - The National Park Service will honor our past soldiers this Veterans Day Weekend by hosting a “Living Military Timeline" at Fort Necessity National Battlefield.
Park staff and volunteers will portray soldiers from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. Using period costume, camp gear and equipment individuals will present a living time line of military developments, highlighting how technologies of warfare advanced through the years. The group will represent soldiers from the colonial period into the twentieth century. The encampment will be located in the historic meadow near Fort Necessity and will be open Saturday and Sunday, November 11 and 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Please dress appropriately for the season.
Fort Necessity National Battlefield preserves and tells the story of the first campaign of the French & Indian War. The visitor center is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the park grounds open daily sunrise to sunset. Admission to Fort Necessity National Battlefield is free.
