Paddling Skills Clinic Saturday, March 17th, 2018

On Saturday, March 17th, Big Thicket National Preserve will provide an opportunity for you to develop safe and effective canoeing skills. This free clinic welcomes visitors to casually explore basic canoe paddling skills on Village Creek with instruction from professionally trained park rangers. Join the group any time between 11 am to 3 pm at “Baby Galvez", west of highway 96 off of Lindsey Road, south of Silsbee, Texas. Rangers will be offering instruction and assistance in skills from basic paddling strokes all the way to advanced maneuvers. Canoes, PFDs & paddles are provided. No registration is needed. Stop by any time.

Directions to the Baby Galvez Boat Ramp: From Highway 96 south in Silsbee, take Maxwell Road 0.2 miles, turn left onto Lindsey Street, follow Lindsey St. for 1 mile, turn left onto Baby Galvez Road, and travel approximately 0.5 mile to the boat ramp at the end of the road.
