Obed Junior Ranger Day Scheduled for Saturday, April 14

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 21, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Obed Wild and Scenic River will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act throughout 2018. To help celebrate that historic act, there will be a special Junior Ranger Day event on Saturday, April 14, at Obed Visitor Center.

Kids of all ages will be able to see and explore several National Park Service (NPS) vehicles, including our law enforcement and fire suppression vehicles. Kids will also get a chance to put on law enforcement and firefighting shirts and hats and handle a variety of NPS “tools of the trade."

Finally, kids will also earn a special Obed Wild and Scenic River patch and badge upon completion of a Junior Ranger booklet. No reservations are required for this free program.

For more information, please call the park at (423) 346-6294.
