Inlet and Beach Walk April 2018

St. Augustine, Florida - On Tuesday April 10, 2018 Fort Matanzas invites you to join us in a guided interpretive walk around the Matanzas Inlet. From 11:30am -1:00pm the National Park Service will present a program about inlet dynamics and what makes this area special. Hikers will see seashells and seabirds, learn about coquina stone, dune vegetation, heavy minerals, mollusks, the cool habits of crabs, and much more. Reservations are not required for this event. Vehicle parking for this walk is available at the parking lot on the west side of A1A, just north of the Matanzas Inlet Bridge. Please arrive no later than 11:15 am. There is no entrance or parking fee required to visit the park or participate in this event. This Inlet and Beach Walk is subject to cancellation due to bad weather. Fort Matanzas is located 14 miles south of St. Augustine on Anastasia Island and four miles south of Route 206 on Highway A1A. For additional information, call 904-471-0116 or www.nps.gov/foma.
