An accessibility self-evaluation and transition plan provides direction for parks as they modify existing services, activities, and programs in park areas. This is intended to help parks remove physical and programmatic barriers and improve the accessibility at the park for all visitors.

An interdisciplinary team, including park and regional staff, identified the key park experiences and evaluated park areas to determine which areas would be evaluated for accessibility needs. The team then developed implementation strategies for improving the accessibility at each location. The plan will guide changes to the way existing services, activities, and programs are provided in multiple locations through Lake Roosevelt by defining what barriers limit accessibility and providing recommendations on how they can be modified or removed to increase accessibility for all users.

If you will need any accommodations to participate, such as assistive listening devices, large print, braille, a sign language interpreter, or real-time captioning, please contact the park accessibility coordinator at 509-754-7830 or e-mail us. To ensure that the requested accommodations are available, please contact the accessibility coordinator a minimum of seven days prior to the meeting.

If you would like to provide input about the Draft Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan but are unable to attend the public meetings, please submit your comments by visiting the project planning website at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?projectID=80139.

Your input continues to be important to the planning process and will help us as we work to ensure Lake Roosevelt is more accessible to all visitors. The National Park Service values your interest in Lake Roosevelt, and we look forward to your participation in this planning process. For more information, please call 509-754-7830.
