Science Saturday at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on May 7, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Join a ranger and local scientist for the first in a monthly series of “Science Saturday" presentations at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Meet on Saturday, May 12, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center for a short presentation and then car-pool to a research site to learn firsthand about some of the scientific research taking place within the park.

These programs will help explain how scientific research helps park managers make important decisions in how to manage our national parks. We will also explore our own ideas about science and learn about scientific investigations going on within other Great Lakes national parks.

The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49, about one mile north of Interstate 94. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/indu and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IndianaDunesNL.
