Harrison, AR: Arvest Foundation recently donated $2,000 to Buffalo National River Partnerson Wednesday to support “Fun Days" at Buffalo National River, organized in partnership with Special Olympics. The “Fun Day" events provide residents in Baxter, Boone, Carroll, Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties who have special needs opportunities to participate in guided hikes, play games, and learn about nature and wildlife at Buffalo National River. Buffalo National River Partners, the National Park Foundation, and the National Park Service have hosted more than one thousand participants since the first “Fun Day" event in 2016.

“We are grateful to Arvest Foundation for helping to ensure that we can continue hosting these events into the future," said BNRP President Ginger Milan. “Every resident of our surrounding communities should have the opportunity to experience the beauty and wonder of Buffalo National River."

Last week’s “Fun Day" took place at Tyler Bend. Participants from United Cerebral Palsy, Bost, Cotter, Developmental Discoveries Inc., and Boone County Special Services took part in the event. The next “Fun Day" will be scheduled in late September.
