HOUGHTON, MICH. - In late June and early July, join Keweenaw National Historical Park Ranger Katie Keller for programs celebrating our local Keweenaw heritage. Programs are geared for families and youth ages 5 to 12. Programs are held on Tuesdays at 1 pm and average 45 minutes.

These early summer programs will be a four-part series entitled: Cousin Jacks and Jennies: Cornish in the Keweenaw. Explore what it meant to be a Cornish immigrant during the 19th century. After emigrating from Cornwall to the Keweenaw, discover what it was like to work in an underground copper mine, learn about cultural traditions brought from the home country, and experience Cornish heritage in the local area today.
