HOMESTEAD, Fla. --- Works in a variety of media from 23 artists will be on display in Biscayne National Park in the Dante Fascell Visitor Center gallery from July 27 to October 7, 2018. From 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018, there will be a “meet the artists" reception with refreshments and live music by singer and guitarist Bob Bonnen. The show, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and reception are free.

The show is titled Recombinant because it is a new combination of old elements. Recombinant is part of the community artists program, an outlet for artists inspired by the beauty of Biscayne National Park. Since 1997 the gallery hosted over 60 shows featuring photography, paintings and drawings in a variety of media including fiber, clay, printmaking and sculpture. The program is made possible by the South Florida National Parks Trust, and the 2018 shows celebrating the park’s 50th anniversary year are made possible by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation through the Knight Arts Challenge, The Guerra Family Foundation, and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
