Cascade River Road Opens for the Season 2018

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 24, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

The Cascade River Road is now open to all vehicles to its end at Cascade Pass Trailhead. The road has been closed for road repairs following storms, heavy rains, and flooding last winter.

Crews continue to work on the road and vehicles should use caution near large trucks and equipment along the road.

The Cascade River Road provides access to the very popular Cascade Pass, Horseshoe Basin, and Sahale Arm Trails, as well as a scenic route for visitors hiking across the park to Stehekin. Boston Basin is a popular climbing area, with access to Forbidden, Sahale and Sharkfin peaks, and is also accessed via Cascade River Road.
