George Washington Birthplace National Monument will celebrate the American Indian heritage of our nation with a day of activities on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Activities will include:
12:00 pm and 2:00 pm Members of the Rappahannock Tribe, a recently federally recognized tribal unit will perform traditional dances and songs in the park’s Historic Area between the Visitor Center and Memorial House Museum. Benches and chairs will be provided, or you may bring a lawn chair. Each program will last approximately 45 minutes.
Between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, you may visit with the Rappahannocks as they inform visitors about the history of their tribe. The park will be open from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm and many buildings will be open for visitors to tour.
Admission to George Washington Birthplace National Monument is free, and there is no charge for any activities on October 6.
George Washington Birthplace National Monument is located on Route 204, two miles off of Route 3, 38 miles east of Fredericksburg, VA and 11 miles west of Montross, VA.
