The Medgar and Myrlie Evers House is the newest site on the Civil Rights Network to Freedom. Created in 2017, the newly established program recognizes properties associated with the civil rights movement from 1939 to 1968. Eligible properties must be listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, and have owner consent. The Medgar and Myrlie Evers House was designated a National Historic Landmark on Dec. 23, 2016, and was previously listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Medgar Evers Historic District.
