Modern Stars of Pecos

Modern Stars of Pecos

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Oct. 11, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Over thousands of years, the land surrounding Pecos National Historical Park has attracted many travelers for a variety of reasons. Early peoples migrated through, some settled, and some came to trade. In the emerging modern era, after the turn of the century, the surrounding beauty of the countryside inspired new kinds of travelers as artists, movie stars, pilots, and cowboys brought their story to the Pecos Valley. From Tex Austin’s Ranch, to the flying Charles Lindbergh, and the one and only Greer Garson, join Ranger Eric Sainio as he illustrates some of the famous personalities of the Pecos Valley. This program will be held at the CCHP Santa Fe Trail Interpretive center at 116 Bridge Street in Las Vegas, New Mexico on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at 7:00PM.

This program is free in partnership with the Citizens Committee for Historic Preservation. For more information, please contact Fort Union National Monument at (505) 425-8025.
