Vicksburg, MS: Navy Circle, off of Washington Street has reopened to all traffic. Visitors can once again visit the southern anchor of the Union siege lines and enjoy one of the most expansive views of the Mississippi River and the river bridges.
Navy Circle was closed to all traffic in November of 2017 to facilitate work by the Vicksburg Bridge Commission to stabilize soil erosion in the vicinity of the old Highway bridge. After the erosion control was completed, it was necessary to install a new pedestrian fence along the overlook to provide for visitor safety.
Navy Circle will be open to the public 7 days a week from 8am-5pm.
