The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Dec. 22, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

During the government shutdown, park roads, monuments, and trails will be open, unless a winter storm causes snow closures. The Visitor Center, film, cyclorama painting and museum exhibits will be open. Licensed Battlefield Guides will give tours. For reservations call 877-874-2478. Other tours and services may be available; check with providers of these tours for the latest information. All park programs have been canceled, including Winter Lectures, Reading Adventures for Families, and the Battlefield Book Series. The cemetery, cemetery annex, David Wills House and Eisenhower National Historic Site will be closed during the shutdown.
