During the lapse in appropriations, Haleakalā National Park will remain as accessible as possible, while still following all applicable laws and procedures. Emergency medical response will be extremely limited and backcountry camping or cabin permits will not be issued. Electronic message boards, as well as signs posted on park buildings will remind visitors of these conditions.

Closures:
· Headquarters Visitor Center, at 7000 feet of elevation: closed.
· Haleakalā Visitor Center, at 9741 feet of elevation: closed.
· Hosmer Grove Campground and Kīpahulu Campground: open.
· Backcountry cabins: cabin users with existing reservations should make alternative plans. Cabin refunds may be requested via www.recreation.gov after federal operations resume.
· Kipahulu Visitor Center, in the park’s Kīpahulu District: closed"
· Pools of `Ohe`o, Kīpahulu District: closed.
· Website and social media: will not be updated.
· Volunteer projects: cancelled.
Open:
· Summit District roads and trails: (limited emergency response).
· Kīpahulu District roads and trails open (limited emergency response).
