Moores Creek National Battlefield to Host Family-Friendly Junior Ranger Day, Saturday April 27, 2019

CURRIE, NC - Moores Creek National Battlefield is hosting their Annual Junior Ranger Day, April 27, 2019, from 10 am to 4pm. This is event is FREE to the public and all ages are welcome.

Children of all ages are invited to explore Moores Creek National Battlefield, learn about the Revolutionary War, and colonial life in North Carolina. Participants will meet a colonial blacksmith, take a tour through an 18th century kitchen, play with colonial toys, and experience life as a Revolutionary War Solider. Other activities will include making 18th Century musket cartridges, learning about Revolutionary War spies, colonial beverages, military badges of merit, and much more. Each participant will be given an activity sheet that will guide their experience in the park as well as through the demonstrations. Upon completion of the activities, participants may turn in their activity sheets to a Ranger in the Visitor Center to receive a Moores Creek National Battlefield Jr. Ranger Badge and other National Park swag. If a child is not quite old enough to read and write, a parent or guardian can assist them.
