Fort Union National Monument announces that extended summer hours and expanded interpretive programming will begin on Saturday, May 25. The visitor center and Monument grounds will be open from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm every day of the week. Ranger-guided fort tours are scheduled for 10:00 am and 1:00 pm every day of the week. In addition to guided fort tours, there will typically be other ranger-led interpretive programs offered during the day.
On most Saturdays, rangers and volunteers dressed in Civil War garb will fire reproduction Civil War artillery at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Entrance to the Monument is free, as are all interpretive programs.
