Timpanogos Cave National Monument Issues Request for Proposals for Food and Beverage Vendors

The National Park Service has issued a Request for Proposals for new food and beverage services at Timpanogos Cave National Monument in order to provide visitors the opportunity to obtain food and beverages on site to enhance their cave tour hike or other activity.

On June 19, 2019, the park will open a new visitor center and a redesigned parking area which includes a dedicated location suitable for a mobile food / beverage concession. The NPS desires to have food and beverage services offered daily during the peak season from a minimum of mid-morning to mid-afternoon.

The designated area, designing to accommodate a single food truck or trailer, will be highly visible, on the end of the center island of the parking lot, with a permanent RV-type power pedestal and a several adjacent picnic tables and trash receptacles.

The park anticipates managing this program with one or more Commercial Use Authorizations. It will work collaboratively with permitees to develop reasonable expectations and plans for scheduling, food/beverage offerings, allocation of space, etc., guided in part by input received in these proposals.
