New Vendor Announced for Fort Smith Afterbay Campground

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 16, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area has issued a Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) for campground management services at Fort Smith, Montana. Afterbay Campground Services was recently selected as the vendor who will be responsible for both the main campground on the south shore and for the overflow campsites - known as Grapevine Campground - on the north shore of the Afterbay.

Starting on Aug. 1, a fee of $15 per campsite per night ($7.50 with the Senior Pass) will be required. The CUA authorizes Afterbay Campground Services to manage and collect campground fees while working in close partnership with National Park Service staff on maintenance and law enforcement concerns. All current campground rules and regulations will remain in effect.

For more information, please contact the Yellowtail Dam Visitor Center (Fort Smith, MT) at 406-666-9961 or the Cal S. Taggart Visitor Center (Lovell, WY) at 307-548-5406.
