The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Aug. 21, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Writer/photographer and Mancos resident, Linda Rose, is a writer and photographer. She has had a full career working in various aspects of the art world from freelance artist to educator. Her work currently focuses on photo/journal books that feature travels to various parts of the world as well as books on family history. Linda has an MFA from the University of North Texas. For a number of years she worked as an artist doing monumental fiber art works, before entering the world of education where she taught art to students at all levels.

While at Mesa Verde, Linda will photograph and spend time in the backcountry doing creative writing. Her culminating project will be a book called, “Reflections on Mesa Verde." This project will add one more “tessera" to the “mosaic" which makes up the landscape of Mesa Verde.

Linda will discuss her work in a program at Far View Lodge Library on Thursday, September 12 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

Mesa Verde National Park’s Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program provides professional artists the opportunity to become part of a long established tradition of artists creating art in our national parks. The AIR program is managed for the park by the nonprofit Mesa Verde Museum Association. Learn more at www.nps.gov/meve/getinvolved/artists_in_residence.htm and at www.mesaverde.org.
