The storm debris removal project at Fort Pulaski National Monument continues and has seen great progress over the last few weeks. While areas near the picnic area have reopened, trails along the dike system and in the historic area of the park have been closed for public safety. Access to and from the park picnic to Fort Pulaski is limited to the shoulder along Cockspur Island Road.
Please refer to the provided map regarding closed and accessible areas. Due to the upcoming holiday season, project work will cease, and all trails will be open between December 14th and January 5th. After that time, the project will resume and new closures will be established. We appreciate everyone's patience during this project and will provide updates as they become available.
