National park COVID-19 update

Brecksville, Ohio - Cuyahoga Valley National Park will maintain public restrooms in popular park locations and close all others. Earlier this week, the park closed Boston Mill Visitor Center and announced that restrooms would remain open. The health and safety of staff and visitors remains top priority, so the park will be concentrating janitorial services to fewer locations.

We ask that visitors help park staff by keeping those restrooms that are open in good condition.

The following restrooms will remain open:

* Brandywine Falls

* Brecksville Station/Station Road Bridge Trailhead

* Boston Store

* Boston Mill Visitor Center

* Canal Exploration Center

* Hunt House

* Ledges

* Lock 29 in Peninsula

The following restrooms will be closed as of March 21:

* Botzum Trailhead

* Everett Covered Bridge

* Horseshoe Pond

* Howe Meadow

* Indigo Lake

* Ira Trailhead

* Kendall Lake

* Oak Hill

* Octagon

* Pine Hollow

* Rockside Station

* Red Lock

* Wetmore Trailhead

Visitors are asked to heed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) handwashing and social distancing guidelines, especially when visiting areas of the park with surfaces that many people may touch (outdoor exhibits, map boxes, picnic tables, doors, etc).

“National Parks are places of refuge and renewal for the American people. Now, more than ever, we need people to play their part in taking care of CVNP and fellow visitors when they enjoy recreating in their park", said Craig Kenkel, Superintendent of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, First Ladies National Historic Site, and James A. Garfield National Historic Site.

CVNP encompasses 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Managed by the National Park Service, CVNP combines cultural, historical, recreational, and natural resources in one setting. For more information, visit the park’s website or Facebook page, or call 440-717-3890.
