Pavement Preservation Project

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on May 29, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

Greensboro, N.C. - Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is currently implementing a Pavement Preservation Project on the Tour Loop Road and the parking lots for the Visitor Center and Hoskins Farmstead Site. To ensure visitor and worker safety, the Tour Loop Road and parking lots will remain closed for the duration of the project. The project’s timely success depends upon public cooperation and weather. Avoid the construction zone. Walking in the construction area is hazardous and delays project completion.

In addition, the 254-acre park grounds, trails and tour road, and Greensboro Greenway access continue to be available and accessible to the public. As a reminder, walk on the interior trails only. Bicycles are not allowed on interior trails, so please opt to use the Greenway along Old Battleground Road.

This project must reach completion prior to the increasing access for phased reopening. This project will enhance the park experience through improved infrastructure for years to come.

Details and updates on park operations will continue to be posted on our website https://www.nps.gov/guco/index.htm and social media channels.
