Unpaved Portion of Moose-Wilson Road to Close Temporarily Thursday Morning for Grading Operations

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Sept. 29, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

The unpaved section of the Moose-Wilson Road in Grand Teton National Park will be temporarily closed for road grading operations beginning at 4 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, and will reopen by 12 p.m. the same day.

During the temporary closure, motorists and bicyclists should plan to use an alternate route as this temporary closure will prevent making a ‘through trip’ on the Moose-Wilson Road between the Granite Canyon Entrance Station and a gate south of the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve.

For those wishing to reach the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve parking area or Death Canyon trailhead, access will be possible by traveling south from the Teton Park Road junction near the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center.

Roadwork schedules may change, or be delayed, due to weather conditions, equipment malfunction, or other extenuating circumstances.
