The recent autumn rains are enabling Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area to lift its fire ban. Effective at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, the fire ban at Lake Roosevelt NRA is lifted throughout the Park. The public is reminded that fires are only allowed in established campsite or picnic areas where National Park Service provided receptacles are located and on the exposed lakebed, below the high water mark of 1290’ elevation (lakebed fire guidelines are found in the Superintendent’s Compendium).
The lifting of this fire ban is within the boundaries of the recreation area. Please check with the Washington Department of Natural Resources or local jurisdictions for any fire restrictions which might remain in effect outside of the Park’s boundaries.
