Obed Wild & Scenic River Offers New “BARK Ranger” Program

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 23, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

Obed Wild & Scenic River announces a new program for those who visit the park with their canine companions. The BARK Ranger program encourages “pawsitive" experiences for canine-visitors and their human companions, while keeping people, pets, and wildlife safe while visiting the park.

The self-guided program is as easy as the acronym “BARK."

1. B - Bag your dog’s waste and properly dispose it

2. A - Always leash your pet. Keep dogs on a six-foot leash and under control at all times while in the park

3. R - Respect wildlife

4. K - Know where you can go

Dogs completing this short program can be sworn in as BARK Rangers and their owners will be eligible to earn a special BARK Ranger collar tag at the visitor center.
