Saturday, May 21

Astronomy Night

7:00 p.m.

Join us for an evening under the wonderful Western sky on Saturday, May 21st. At 8:00 pm park staff and volunteers from the Santa Fe Stargazers will bring out telescopes and binoculars to gaze at the stars and check out deep-sky objects. Visitors are also invited to bring their own telescopes and spotting scopes to explore the night skies. This event is weather-dependent and red-bulb flashlights and appropriate clothing are strongly recommended. Park entrance gate will open at 7:00 pm and will close at 8:30 pm. Please note that after 8:30 no further entry will be permitted.

Night Photography Session at the Forked Lightning Ranch House

7:00 p.m.

The Friends of Pecos NHP and park volunteer Stan Ford will lead a night photography session for a limited number of participants of all levels. Participants should plan to bring their own cameras (with manual mode), tripods, red-bulb flashlights, and weather-appropriate clothing. Reservations are required and space is extremely limited; please contact fotosbyford@gmail.com to register and for more information.
