Motor Vehicles Temporarily Restricted from Petersburg National Battlefield’s Eastern Front Unit Tour Road Due to Sink Hole

PETERSBURG, Va - A sinkhole has developed near tour stop 4 of Petersburg National Battlefield’s Eastern Front Unit tour road. For safety reasons, motorized vehicles are restricted from entering the road. The damaged area has been blocked off to prevent bicyclists, walkers, and runners from being injured.

Park staff is working to resolve the issue. We will keep the public informed of changes by posting updates to the park’s website, Facebook, and Twitter pages.
