Clarkdale, AZ -Tuzigoot National Monument will be conducting guided nature walks starting June 11th at 8:30 a.m. and continuing every other Saturday throughout the month of June and into summer, weather permitting. Walks are free to those who wish to attend, however; if visitors wish to remain in the park after the event or visit the Tuzigoot pueblo, regular entrance fees are required.
Visitors are asked to meet at the Visitor Center at 8:15 a.m. The informal guided walks will take place in Tavasci Marsh and is expected to last two hours. Visitors will have a chance to learn about the park’s flora, fauna, and history of the area’s natural and cultural resources. Participants are asked to expect uneven, rocky terrain and elevation changes of 200 ft. It is highly recommended to bring supportive close-toed foot ware, weather appropriate protective clothing, such as a hat, as well as sunscreen and at least one liter of water per person.
