Bark Ranger Day

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on June 4. It is reproduced in full below.

Do you and your four-legged friend love visiting the park? Do you want to play a greater role in helping to protect the resources for future generations? Then stop by the park to complete the Bark Ranger activity book and get your dog sworn in as an official Bark Ranger at Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument!

The Bark Ranger Program follows the B.A.R.K principles: Bag your pet’s waste, Always leash your pet, Respect wildlife, and Know where you can go. Join Park Guide Alex Arnold on Saturday, June 18th from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at the picnic area at Abó to get your activity book and you can earn a certificate and a Bark Ranger button to be official! If you can't make it on the day of the event, stop by any visitor center anytime when they're open, and you can complete your activity book! Remember to wear sunscreen and bring water for both you and your best friend!
