U.S. Park Rangers Seek Information on Illegal Diversion of the Platte River

Empire, MI - U.S. Park Rangers at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore) are seeking information from the public to aid an ongoing investigation into the illegal diversion of the Platte River. Visitors who may have observed this activity on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, or Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, are encouraged to share the information with investigators. An anonymous tip line has been set up by the National Park Service’s Investigative Services Branch to aid in the investigation.

Information from other visitors is often very helpful to investigators. You do not have to provide your name, only what you know:
