Concord, NH - On Sept. 18, 2019, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force from both NH and Massachusetts, along with the Manchester Police Department, arrested Boston Police Department fugitive, Brian Joyce. Joyce was wanted on a warrant issued out of the Dorchester District Court in connection to a Murder that occurred this past Monday night.
Information was developed by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force from the Boston Police Department’s Fugitive Unit that pointed to Manchester, NH. Late yesterday afternoon, a cooperative effort by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force from both NH and MA, along with the Manchester Police Department were able to locate and arrest Joyce without incident at a residence in the 200 block of Wilson Street in Manchester.
Joyce was transported to the Manchester Police Department, where he was charged as a fugitive from justice based on the arrest warrant issued out of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Joyce will have his initial court appearance in Manchester District Court on Sept. 19, 2019 and if he waives extradition he will be returned to Massachusetts to face these very serious charges.
This arrest was made with the cooperative effort of several members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force including, members from the Hillsborough, Rockingham and Strafford, County Sheriff’s Offices, the Manchester, Nashua and Boston (MA) Police Departments, along with deputy U.S. Marshals.
U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said, “I am extremely proud of the team that was able to quickly and safely take Mr. Joyce into custody." Willard continued, “Based on the serious allegations in this case, the public can definitely feel safer knowing that Joyce is in jail."
Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 7,751 arrests (Updated as of 07/25/2019). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
