Today, Deputy Administrator Coleman met with Nigeria Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman Mahmood Yakubu. They discussed USAID's support for free, peaceful, and fair elections in Nigeria. Deputy Administrator Coleman praised Nigerian efforts to educate voters and work to eliminate voter intimidation and mis-and dis-information. She also reaffirmed the United States’ long-standing support for Nigerian democracy and an accessible, inclusive electoral process.
