Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) September 2022 jobs report:
“Our nation has powered a record-breaking jobs recovery, and this month’s report underscores the stability built under President Biden. Workers are securing better opportunities, and hourly wages continue to rise. Congressional Democrats fought to invest in workers, families, and businesses, making this 21 straight months of job creation possible.
“While Republicans root for a recession, all the facts have shown steady job, employment, and wage growth. They also continue to block the supports that would unleash even fuller participation in the workforce, and in fact, their agenda is the exact opposite of what women need. Affordable, accessible child care and universal paid leave are critical to getting women back in the game and growing the economy.
Democrats put People over Politics, and we will keep lowering costs, creating better paying opportunities, and protecting America’s families.”
