Rodgers and Guthrie Statement on the MOBILE Health Care Act

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Oct. 18. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Republican Leader of the Energy and Commerce Committee Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Republican Leader of the Health Subcommittee Brett Guthrie (R-KY) released the following statement after President Joe Biden signed into law S.958, the Maximizing Outcomes through Better Investments in Lifesaving Equipment for (MOBILE) Health Care Act:

“Americans living in rural areas, including pregnant women, children, veterans, and seniors, will gain better access to care through the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) mobile health clinics established by this bipartisan law. As a result, FQHCs will be able to more efficiently reach and provide care to patients where they live. We are grateful to Rep. Hudson for his leadership on this crucial effort as well as members on the Energy and Commerce Committee for their bipartisan work."

Note: H.R. 5141, the companion bill to S. 958, was reported favorably out of the Energy and Commerce Committee unanimously on Sept. 21, 2022. S. 958 passed the Senate by unanimous consent and the House by a wide bipartisan vote of 414-7.
