January 7: Live Webinar on Kick-starting Your Energy Management Program

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Kick-Starting Your Energy Management Program" on Tuesday, January 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Better Buildings Challenge Partners Shorenstein and Allegheny College will describe solutions that have helped them overcome the barriers of time, money, and expertise to build a robust energy management program. In doing so, they’ve developed a culture of sustainability within their organizations - and a track record of successful energy efficiency projects. Jaxon Love will detail Shorenstein’s experience bringing on energy management fellows for summer appointments through the Environmental Defense Fund’s Climate Corps fellows program. Kelly Boulton will outline how she and campus professors have engaged Allegheny College students to develop and present the business case for campus energy efficiency projects to administrators. Renee Lafrenz from the Alliance to Save Energy will profile PowerSave Campus, a student internship program supporting energy efficiency efforts in schools.

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "SunShot Incubator Virtual Showcase" on Tuesday, January 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The SunShot Incubator program provides early-stage assistance to help startup companies cross technological barriers to commercialization while encouraging private sector investment. This webinar will provide an opportunity to learn about the SunShot Incubator projects in quick 1-minute presentations by each company. In addition to learning about the projects, attendees will be able to gain greater insight into the Incubator awardees' products and future development needs

January 14: Live Webinar Introducing the 2014 Version of the Home Energy Scoring Tool

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Introducing the 2014 Version of the Home Energy Scoring Tool" on Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Home Energy Score program is set to release its first major update to the Home Energy Scoring Tool in January 2014. After more than a year of implementation and feedback from partners, the Energy Department made significant improvements to the Scoring Tool’s calculation methodology, user interface, and ability to motivate homeowner investment in energy improvements. Join the webinar to learn about the updates and to find out how utilities, state and local governments, and others can use the Scoring Tool to support residential energy efficiency goals.
