AIKEN, S.C. - Employees with EM’s liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS) recently achieved a company record by surpassing 10 million hours, or just over two years, without injury resulting in a missed day of work. Since the Savannah River Remediation (SRR) contract began in 2009, the previous longest safe work hours record was 6.5 million hours. SRR President and Project Manager Tom Foster said this achievement is a result of a deep-seated safety culture. “Ten million hours is an incredible level of distinction in any industry, but it’s especially important in our nuclear operations arena," he said.
