On Monday, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Puerto Rico Economic Growth Coordinator Don Graves met virtually with a group of private sector leaders in Puerto Rico, including affiliates from the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association, and the Puerto Rico Retailers Association, to discuss economic relief following the devastation of Hurricane Fiona. Deputy Secretary Graves reinforced the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to economic recovery and growth for Puerto Rico, making clear that the pillars of the U.S. – Puerto Rico Economic Dialogue remain a priority in the wake of Fiona. The Deputy Secretary also conveyed to the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce that the government stands ready to not only rebuild but transform Puerto Rico through its unprecedented investment in infrastructure and economic development.
