IB 22-52: NMFS Reallocates Pacific Cod from Trawl Catcher Vessels to Amendment 80 Trawl Catcher/Processors in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is reallocating the projected unused amounts of 700 metric tons (mt) of Pacific cod from trawl catcher vessels to the annual amount specified for Amendment 80 trawl catcher/processors in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area (BSAI) according to Jonathan M. Kurland, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to allow the 2022 total allowable catch of Pacific cod in the BSAI to be harvested and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.20(a)(7)(iii)(B). This action does not imply any change in the status of the fisheries.
