The Coast Guard offers multiple medical services for members of the Reserve Component, including members of the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR). However, there is a revised policy where these members may receive services listed below at Coast Guard clinics, including ashore sickbays with adequate capacity. Reservists must be in a qualifying duty status (ADT, IDT, ADOS, or RMP) to receive these services.
- Periodic health assessments (PHAs)
- Annual dental readiness exams
- Immunizations required for individual medical readiness (IMR)
- Blood work required for IMR
- Assessment for medical equipment required for IMR, such as gas mask inserts, prescription glasses, and personal protective equipment (PPE) fit testing
- Occupational medical surveillance and evaluation program exams, lab work, and tests
- Deployment-related health assessments
- Separation/retirement physicals
- Any other required exams including (but not limited to) aviation, dive, commissioning, and retention physicals
