The U.S. Census Bureau released an infographic on the Census of Governments (CoG). This census, which comprises over 90,000 government organizations, is conducted every 5 years. CoG is the most comprehensive, comparable and precise measure of public sector activity within the U.S. economy. The infographic provides an at-a-glance look at the planning and dissemination for the upcoming 2022 CoG. With the release of each data product, the CoG provides policy analysts, researchers and the general public with a more complete and clearer picture of the public sector. Additionally, the infographic summarizes the goals for conducting a more efficient CoG.
The first phase of data collection for the 2022 CoG begins this month and will continue throughout 2022. Data products from the CoG will be available in 2023.
