The U.S. Census Bureau was presented the 2021 Making a Difference Award today at the Esri Federal GIS Conference.
Acting Census Bureau Director Ron Jarmin and Chief of the Geography Division Deirdre Bishop were presented the award during the virtual conference.
Each year, one organization is selected for the Making A Difference Award, which recognizes organizations for contributions to society. This year, the Census Bureau was recognized for conducting and completing 2020 Census operations “Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, wildfires, hurricanes, civil unrest across the nation, and disinformation about the census," said Jack Dangermond, Esri president and founder.
